The GiftTRAP Buzz is growing
Thursday, February 23rd, 2006Madhouse Creative, GiftTRAP, Right to Play, Massive Change, Rentchalets…
The list just keeps growing of the connections that are being made with this yet to be released, board game. With the website launching just 2 weeks ago, there have already been over 700 photo submissions from 28 countries. Talk about a global buzz! GiftTRAP is still looking for photos for the first version. Check out (www.gifttrap.com) to submit your images.
Nick Kellet, the developer of GiftTRAP is excited by the tremendous response. For a game that hasn’t even launched yet it is fantastic to see how the news is spreading.
GiftTRAP definitely isn’t just about getting. Giving is a central theme, whether in the game, or a part of the real social consciousness of those involved in the development of the game. The team at GiftTRAP has made significant commitments to Right to Play (www.righttoplay.com)- a charity dedicated to youth involvement in sports. With so much pre-launch interest initial copies could raise in excess of $150k and will set us on our way to making GiftTRAP Enterprise’s goal to raise a minimum of $1m for Right To Play on the back of the game.
This idea of charity is why Massive Change is getting behind this project. “It’s a cool new social board game. It’s a game of giving and social awareness that is designed to create conversations. There are lots of echoes of Massive Change in it,†says Jill Murray one of the GiftTRAP project leaders and the creator of the Urban room in the Massive Change exhibit (www.massivechange.com).
Madhouse Creative is pleased to be involved with such a strong group. Now the connections are paying off for some of the Madhouse clients as Rentchalets (www.rentchalets.com)has come on board(no pun intended!), and will have their own ‘gift card’ in the first version of the game. Gigi Farrell, owner of Rentchalets (www.rentchalets.com) was eager to be involved, and to have the opportunity to promote her high end chalet rental agency at Big White Ski Resort.
Scott Davis, a partner at Madhouse explains, “We are so glad that Nick brought us this opportunity. It’s great to have been a part of the game design, but even more challenging and exciting to be involved with the marketing, pre-launch and launch activities as well. We’re having a great time and it is a fun ride. Thanks Nick!”
GiftTRAP also want to help other charities gain more visibility so if you work at a charity or have a favourite not-for-profit please submit a gift idea and photo for them. If you own a product or a service you could see it featured in the game please submit that too www.gifttrap.com.
