Development and Tourism Marketing Specialists for the Okanagan

Friday, November 3rd, 2006

A full service advertising agency, Madhouse Creative specializes in real estate developments and tourism marketing. Madhouse Creative has carved out a great niche in these areas in the Kelowna and Okanagan marketplace.

“There is such a strong overlap between these two sectors, we couldn’t ignore where the market was taking us. Many of the visitors to the Okanagan Valley end up coming back for the lifestyle. We are utilizing the experience and insight we gain from working with our tourism clients to benefit our developers, and vice versa”, states Tammy Moore, Principal of Madhouse Creative. With experience in marketing over $1.25 billion worth of real estate, Madhouse is actively involved with a mix of single family, multi-family townhomes and condos in both recreational and residential markets from Washington State and throughout the Okanagan Valley. Madhouse Creative has also assisted Tourism Kelowna with the implementation of their new brand identity, as well as attracting events to the community. Some of our other tourism clients include Manteo and Lakefront Resort, Quails’ Gate Estate Winery and Rentchalets at Big White.

GiftTRAP is out of the box

Friday, November 3rd, 2006

GiftTRAP has been getting outstanding reviews. For a board game that was released less than six months ago, the response has been overwhelming. From the launch in New York to the Essen Game Festival in Germany, GiftTRAP has been well received by industry and consumers alike.

Now the press is picking up the story. After being showcased on the local media through CHBC, Shaw Cable and Okanagan radio stations, GiftTRAP is about to hit Venture Magazine on CBC.

Madhouse Creative developed the name, brand and design of the game. We’ve also assisted with the marketing, tradeshow booth and collateral materials to support this great product.

The GiftTRAP Buzz is growing

Thursday, February 23rd, 2006

Madhouse Creative, GiftTRAP, Right to Play, Massive Change, Rentchalets…

The list just keeps growing of the connections that are being made with this yet to be released, board game. With the website launching just 2 weeks ago, there have already been over 700 photo submissions from 28 countries. Talk about a global buzz! GiftTRAP is still looking for photos for the first version. Check out (www.gifttrap.com) to submit your images.

Nick Kellet, the developer of GiftTRAP is excited by the tremendous response. For a game that hasn’t even launched yet it is fantastic to see how the news is spreading.

GiftTRAP definitely isn’t just about getting. Giving is a central theme, whether in the game, or a part of the real social consciousness of those involved in the development of the game. The team at GiftTRAP has made significant commitments to Right to Play (www.righttoplay.com)- a charity dedicated to youth involvement in sports. With so much pre-launch interest initial copies could raise in excess of $150k and will set us on our way to making GiftTRAP Enterprise’s goal to raise a minimum of $1m for Right To Play on the back of the game.

This idea of charity is why Massive Change is getting behind this project. “It’s a cool new social board game. It’s a game of giving and social awareness that is designed to create conversations. There are lots of echoes of Massive Change in it,” says Jill Murray one of the GiftTRAP project leaders and the creator of the Urban room in the Massive Change exhibit (www.massivechange.com).

Madhouse Creative is pleased to be involved with such a strong group. Now the connections are paying off for some of the Madhouse clients as Rentchalets (www.rentchalets.com)has come on board(no pun intended!), and will have their own ‘gift card’ in the first version of the game. Gigi Farrell, owner of Rentchalets (www.rentchalets.com) was eager to be involved, and to have the opportunity to promote her high end chalet rental agency at Big White Ski Resort.

Scott Davis, a partner at Madhouse explains, “We are so glad that Nick brought us this opportunity. It’s great to have been a part of the game design, but even more challenging and exciting to be involved with the marketing, pre-launch and launch activities as well. We’re having a great time and it is a fun ride. Thanks Nick!”

GiftTRAP also want to help other charities gain more visibility so if you work at a charity or have a favourite not-for-profit please submit a gift idea and photo for them. If you own a product or a service you could see it featured in the game please submit that too www.gifttrap.com.

Madhouse Creative and Fresh Air Experience sponsored their new gear.

Snow conditions for the race were the best they have been all season. Great times and great fun for all involved. Results are posted on the Zone4.ca website with our Telemark junior racers picking up a nice selection of medals to make for a perfect weekend.

Sonoma Pines uses Madhouse Creative to launch new townhomes

Friday, November 18th, 2005

Something Different… Something Better.

With a couple years in the marketplace, and new townhome products coming to market, Rykon Group approached Madhouse to refresh the brand for their golf course neighbourhood development near Westbank - Sonoma Pines.

The identity was well-established so a complete departure was not appropriate, but a simplification of the colours created a more sophisticated approach. The bold, blocky format works well in a variety of applications, reflects the Santa Fé colours and styling of the development and creates a signature style for Sonoma Pines.

Madhouse Creative of Kelowna, British Columbia implemented the refreshed brand throughout the advertising campaign, signage and banners. A strong direct mail piece was also developed to send to locals to provide information on the stand alone homes as well as to announce the new townhomes that are coming to market. Madhouse also created a new website to update the message and reflect the new brand.

Rykon Group also invited Madhouse to refresh the discovery centre. The development brand and corporate message are featured on a background of strong colour and floorplans are framed by bold colour bands. The overall approach is cleaner, more sophisticated and fresher looking.

The Raven has taken flight with Madhouse Creative

Thursday, November 17th, 2005

Sólido Group is at it again. The Raven will be the fourth project at British Columbia’s Big White Ski Resort for this developer.

After very successful sales with the previous projects, The Raven is expected to be an even stronger performer. A signature with all Sólido Group homes, thoughtful design details are brought forward throughout the well-designed floorplans and common areas. Large windows embrace the views of the Monashee Mountains. Decks are large enough for hot tubs and entertaining. And The Raven is situated in Big White’s Happy Valley, just a short stroll from the gondola and aprés ski activities.

Madhouse was hired to create the branding for the project. Given a name like The Raven, the personality had to come out with an edginess and strength. A small format brochure is used to provide limited information and entice recipients to investigate further, through direct contact with Sólido Group or a visit to the website. The website provides more complete information including floorplans, features and finishes as well as purchasing information and answers to frequently asked questions. A floorplan kit was created to provide interested individuals with specific detail about each unit and the features and finishes of this Sólido Group development. Madhouse Creative also worked on a new tradeshow booth and display that was used for shows in Hong Kong.

With the ski season set to open at Big White Ski Resort on November 24, The Raven will be offering pre-construction pricing and looking forward to sales.

Kelowna General Hospital Foundation Annual Report places in a national competition!

Madhouse Creative designed the Annual Report for Kelowna General Hospital Foundation. Entered into the Health Care Public Relations Association Canada (HCPRA) Excellence in Health Care Communication awards program, the KGHF Annual Report placed a strong second.

Designed as a communication tool, the Annual Report has enabled the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation to present themselves well to professional organizations and individuals. The smaller format, strong colours, and soft paper stock have worked well to create a visually interesting, easy to read and compelling message.

Madhouse Creative worked with the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation for over 8 years and created direct mail programs, newsletters, annual reports, fundraising campaigns, presentation materials, brochures and other collateral pieces that were used to communicate with donors and inspire others.

Please consider Kelowna General Hospital Foundation for your charitable giving.

A Legacy in the making

Tuesday, August 9th, 2005

Legacy will be an original community with character, where memories of the past inspire a modern way of life.

Breathing new life into the Rutland Elementary School, Legacy will be a collection of townhomes, heritage homes and condominiums. The inspiration for the new buildings and property will come from the classic detailing and brick work of the original schoolhouse.

Madhouse Creative is pleased to have been a part of shaping the future for this heritage site. From the naming of the development, to the marketing materials, print brochures, signage, discovery centre and website. Madhouse has enjoyed working with R&B Construction to craft a brand that remains true to the original character of the property and reflects the vision for the future homes as the development becomes a neighbourhood for a mix of families and singles, young and old.

Legacy will offer residents of Kelowna and Rutland an opportunity to own a new home at an affordable price. Appealing to students, young families, singles, couples and older residents, Legacy will be a truly diversified, residential neighbourhood.

Visit www.legacykelowna.com to view the website and get a glimpse of this wonderful community neighbourhood.
