Great product, new package

Madhouse is pleased to have worked with Hester Creek Estate Winery on the development of their new wine cask design. A 3 litre slimline box, this varietal specific packaging will easily fit into the wine drinker’s cupboard or fridge. The wine inside the box is the same as the wine in the bottle, just more of it.

Casks or boxed wines are increasing in popularity as consumers begin to appreciate the convenience that a box can offer. Perfect for parties, a single box offers the equivalent volume of four bottles of wine. Campers appreciate the reduced packaging. And for the casual drinker, a boxed wine offers the convenience of always having ‘a glass’ at the ready, without the waste of opening an entire bottle. Cooks enjoy having a cup of good wine available for their sauces and dishes. As chefs often remark that the wine you eat should be every bit as good as the wine you drink. Boxed wines have caught on in other markets, and like alternative closures from corks, offer an opportunity to protect the quality of the wine.

The bright colours and high contrast of this packaging are attracting great interest in the liquor stores and cold beer and wine shops. Keep an eye out for the packaging in the stores and give a new box a try.

PSP shoots new armor

Thursday, June 23rd, 2005

The Kelowna ERT (Emergency Response Team) and BC Dragoons were out in force modelling body armor that Tim Swanky photographed and Madhouse Creative art directed Pacific Safety Products.

The first shoot was at the soon-to-be demolished Kelowna Senior Secondary School site. With a good variety of backgrounds and the roughness of a site ready for demolition, it was hard to believe it was part of beautiful Kelowna. Just as easily the photos have the look of a war-ravaged country. The models provided technical assistance and the right look for the images. Razor wire and broken doors and rooftops gave just the right feeling of reality for the armor uses.

After two full day studio sessions to get the detail of the products, the final photoshoot happened late one night in downtown Kelowna with a couple of RCMP officers. A rain drenched street, squad car lights reflecting off the pooled water and the RCMP officers wearing their personal body armor and gear gave urgency to the images and the right mood.

Our thanks are extended to all of those who assisted with the photoshoot, to each of the RCMP members, the BC Dragoons, the ERT, the City of Kelowna, Tim Swanky of Swanky Photographics and of course our client Pacific Safety Products (PSP). The shoots went well and provided great images for upcoming presentations and marketing materials for PSP.

Madhouse Creative is proud to have worked with PSP over the past five years to produce award-winning creative work that effectively portrays this publicly traded company to a global marketplace. We are pleased each time we are invited back to work on another project and look forward to continuing the relationship into the future.

A Legend is launched

Wednesday, June 15th, 2005

Legend Resorts has just launched the new website for their latest project, Veranda Beach.

Legend Resorts and Jim Hammond are well known for developing innovative resort real estate projects on Big White Ski Resort. Veranda Beach represents the first foray into summer, lakeside resort real estate for the company.

Veranda Beach has been likened to the summer family camp of days past, where dad and mom loaded up the woody panel wagon and set off with the kids to the cottage where they would spend the sun drenched days of the summer. Simple times. Friends. Memories. Relaxation. All hallmarks of past summer vacations.

The project is in Oroville Washington on Lake Osoyoos, in the Okanagan Valley, (or Okanogan for our American friends), just across the border from Osoyoos Canada. As an undiscovered gem, Veranda Beach is able to offer a more affordable price point than vacation properties in Canada. And there isn’t a comparable project with individual cottages, over a mile of sandy beach, a village hall and diner, swimming docks and marina. As families recognize the personal value of these legacy properties, the opportunity to purchase won’t last long.

Madhouse Creative was chosen to develop the brand, marketing materials, website, billboards, discovery centre and signage for the Veranda Beach project. We are pleased to be a part of such an outstanding team.

For more information please visit the website at www.verandabeach.com. Be sure to register to hold your place in line!

Sólido Group is building another lifestyle investme

Tuesday, April 12th, 2005

The Raven at Big White Ski Resort will be Sólido Group’s latest winter home building.

After the success of Glacier Lodge, White Wolf and The Timbers, Sólido saw a market for a mid-market product offering. These new homes will have a lower price point than many of the new homes on the mountain, and will appeal to locals still wanting to get into the Big White market.

Madhouse Creative is pleased to be invited back to work with Sólido on another project. We will be able to develop a strong brand for the recreational homes, craft the message and produce effective marketing materials including a tradeshow booth, folder and insert presentation materials, signage and an advertising campaign.

For information on Sólido Group and their outstanding winter homes, visit solido-group.com.

Copper Hill - Something to yee-haw about!

Wednesday, March 16th, 2005

Madhouse Creative is pleased to have developed the branding and marketing materials to launch this new neighbourhood development in Lake Country.

From the unique name, to the stunning signage, effective marketing materials, direct mail campaign and advertising program, Madhouse worked with the development and marketing team to craft a strong message that will resonate with the new home owners.

Authenticity is essential to crafting a strong brand. With a moniker like “Sunburnt Hill” to deal with, we were able to have a little fun. Copper Hill reflects the well-established nickname for the area, and at the same time represents the colour of the area and the beautiful grasslands. The neighbourhood has a country feel with acres and acres of untouched land behind, providing access to hiking, biking, fishing and countless other outdoor activities.

The direct mail program and advertising campaign were tied together through visuals and message. A rotation of six graphics keeps the information fresh, interesting and maintains the brand integrity. For more information please contact Joe Ungaro, Terry Albrecht or Jayson McArthy at 717.1000.

Cheers to Hester Creek Estate Winery

Wednesday, August 18th, 2004

Madhouse represents a new vintage in marketing efforts.

We’ll drink to that! Madhouse Creative is pleased to announce we have secured a new client in Hester Creek Estate Winery of Oliver, British Columbia.

Situated in the heart of the Okanagan Valley, Wine Country, Hester Creek Estate Winery will be undergoing some major changes; from new ownership, to revisiting their branding, marketing materials, packaging, labelling, advertising, signage, website design and all consumer materials.

During our own company retreat, the Madhouse team outlined industries that we would like to work with. “Wineries came up number one”, explains Tammy Moore, Creative Director of Madhouse Creative. “When our team is excited about a client, the work flows extremely well. So when the opportunity presented itself, that Hester Creek would be in a position for new marketing efforts, we aggressively pursued the account. With our experience in the wine industry, our Okanagan Valley location and the creativity and quality of work we were able to demonstrate, we were able to win over the new owners.”
