Truly a Madhouse!

Wednesday, August 18th, 2004

Madhouse Creative is moving to 770 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna.

We’re not in yet, but a move is imminent. Our new studio will be a heritage house on Bernard Avenue in Kelowna.

Constructed in 1907, 770 Bernard Avenue, Kelowna is a stunning two story house, originally built by F.R.E. DeHart, the Managing Director of the Okanagan Fruit and Land Company. In 1907 W.D. Harvey, an Accountant and Secretary-Treasurer of B.C. Growers bought the house. Jake A. Lietz and his wife Ann, purchased the house in 1946 and converted part of it to six rooms for rent. Cheryl MacKenzie bought the house in 1997 and did extensive renovations, finding the structure’s charm and creating a stunning, airy space.

We love the personality of the property, the historical aspects and the charm of the space. The Bernard Avenue area of Kelowna is terrific for Madhouse Creative. With Hambleton Art Gallery across the street, Beyond Audio a couple doors down and Heritage Law Group just down the street, we have great neighbours! The additional exposure from such a magical, high profile location will make more people aware of our great company.

Our new studio space will almost double the area we’ve had on Cadder Avenue. We’re looking forward to the change as all of the Madhouse team could use a little more elbow room, and our clients will appreciate the new ‘parlour’ boardroom and atmosphere.

Wish us luck!

We made it through the first level of competition in the Kelowna Business Excellence Awards, where we are up for recognition for our Service Excellence, now we enter into the second stage, and the judgesâ interviews. We look forward to hosting the interview in our new location at 770 Bernard Avenue, even if it isnât quite finished yet, we felt it is important to let the judges see where weâre going. The continued growth of the company will prove where weâve come from.

The final decisions will be made this fall, and the awards presented in September. We look forward to being asked on stage…

Madhouse Creative supports local Kelowna charities

Kelowna General Hospital Foundation, Rotary Centre for the Arts and Kelowna United Way receive Madhouse support.

Each year Madhouse Creative carefully considers the needs of our Kelowna community and chooses one or more worthy organizations to support. We show our commitment through donations, volunteering our time, gifts-in-kind or pro bono design and marketing work. This year Madhouse has made a donation to the very worthwhile Kelowna General Hospital Foundation, Dr. Anderson Fund. The monies generated from this fund will be used to support maternity care and purchase medical equipment for Kelowna General Hospital.

The South and Central Okanagan United Way is also enjoying Madhouse Creativeâs talents as our Creative Directors, Scott Davis and Tammy Moore, sit on the Communications Committee. Madhouse Creative has also provided concept development and graphic design for all of the print materials, brochures, posters, ad campaigns and collateral materials for the upcoming campaign year.

Madhouse purchased a third chair in the Mary Irwin Theatre in the Kelowna Rotary Centre for the Arts. When Madhouse designed the initial logo and identity for the Rotary Centre for the Arts we made a donation of two chairs to support the theatre, maybe within time weâll have our own row!
