Madhouse supports Central Okanagan Foundation Project:Build
PROJECT BUILD BREAKS NEW GROUND
An invitation to help shape our region is extended to the Okanagan’s developers, contractors, builders, suppliers, trades, realtors and professional service providers. The door is open for everyone to get involved in Project Build, a collaborative initiative to raise funds for the community’s future, to be managed by the Central Okanagan Foundation, “COF.â€
Derek Trethewey of the Okanagan Land Development Corporation kicked off the project with a contribution to COF of $275,000 - donation of a building site in The Lakes valued at $140,000 and an additional $135,000 in funds.
The next step is to create the Project Build Team. The Okanagan’s developers, contractors, builders, suppliers, trades, realtors and professional service providers are invited to get on board by donating their expertise, labour, materials and funds to build a home on this property that will be auctioned off to the public with all proceeds going to COF. The goal is to raise more than $500,000 which COF will use to provide ongoing contributions to community betterment projects.
“Like most others in the Okanagan real estate community, I’ve benefited from the growth in our region. Because of this and my commitment to the community, I have taken this first step in providing a site for Project Build. I welcome everyone in the real estate and construction industries to be part of this exciting initiative also. Pledge your participation to this worthy cause. Be a part of Project Build and leave a legacy that will help preserve our community’s quality of life,†states Derek Trethewey, partner in Okanagan Land Development Corporation.
Two key Project Build positions have already been filled with Don Erdely of Okanagan Land Development Corporation on board as Project Manager and Rob Anderson of Built-Rite Homes as Construction Manager.
Another new member of the Project Build team is local developer, Kathe Mackenzie. On behalf of her projects, The Quarry in the Mission and upcoming development Prospect at Black Mountain, Ms. Mackenzie has pledged the second donation to Project Build in the amount of $50,000.
“I am proud to be part of the local real estate development community where my colleagues continue to raise the bar on contributions to the neighbourhoods we play a part in creating. Vision of a better future is always a key component of real estate development and I welcome others to be part of the Project Build vision. Together we can make this happen,†remarked Kathe Mackenzie.
Madhouse Creative has chosen to be involved with this fundraising project due to our heavy involvement in the real estate development industry within Kelowna and the Okanagan.
“It is a natural fit for Madhouse to work with many of our own clients as a group of industry leaders who are supporting our community in such a huge way. Madhouse will offer our marketing and strategy services on a pro bono basis.” explains Tammy Moore, partner in Madhouse Creative.
